Warranty Terms & Conditions

EM Shutters Ltd. is committed to providing high-quality craftsmanship backed by a robust warranty. Please review our terms below to understand your coverage and responsibilities.

1. General Coverage

EM Shutters warrants that all shutters and blinds will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns them, provided:

• Products were professionally installed by EM Shutters Ltd. or an approved installer.

• Products were made or assembled using original EM Shutters materials and components.

• Products have not been resold or transferred to another owner.

• Products have not been removed and reinstalled by a third party.
  (Shutters reinstalled by anyone other than EM Shutters will void the warranty.)

2. Warranty Periods

Shutters

• Structure: 10 years

• Hardware: 2 years

• Stainless steel hardware: 3 years

• Colour fastness: 2 years

Venetian Blinds

• Structure & material: 2 years

• Hardware: 2 years

• Colour fastness: 2 years

3. Service Warranty – First 3 Years

• Issues caused by manufacturing defects, warping, or finish faults will be repaired or replaced free of charge.

• No call-out fee applies if the issue is covered.

• If the fault is due to customer damage, misuse, or failure to follow care instructions, a £100 call-out fee will apply.

4. Extended Service Warranty – Years 3 to 10

From year 4 to year 10:

• Manufacturing defects may still be covered.

• A £100 call-out fee applies to all service visits, payable in advance.

• If the issue is not covered, additional repair charges may apply. These will be quoted before any work begins.

5. What’s Not Covered

This warranty does not cover:

• Accidental damage or misuse

• Natural wear and tear

• Alterations or unauthorised repairs

• Damage from excessive humidity, damp, or prolonged sunlight

• Removal and reinstallation by third parties

• Reinstallation in a different window

• Measuring or installation errors not carried out by EM Shutters

• Costs related to removal, reinstallation, or shipping

6. Material & Colour Disclaimer

All shutters are handcrafted using natural wood or MDF. Variations in colour, grain, and texture are normal and not considered defects.

• Wood stains may differ due to natural timber variations.

• Paint finishes may vary depending on:

  • Timber species

  • Number of coats

  • Surface prep and sanding

  • Application temperature and humidity

Exact colour matches to samples or past orders are not guaranteed.

7. Limitation of Liability

This warranty is exclusive and replaces all other warranties, express or implied.

EM Shutters Ltd. is not liable for:

• Incidental or consequential damages

• Damage to window frames, glass, or property

• Costs of removing or reinstalling shutters

Repairs or replacements will be made using like or similar parts only.

8. How to Make a Claim

To report a fault or request service:

• Include your name, installation address, description of the issue, and photos (if possible)

9. Ongoing Care

Following our care and maintenance guide is essential to preserve your warranty. Improper use or lack of maintenance may affect coverage.
